Essential Oil Basics

There are so many different types of therapeutic remedies available to us. One of those includes essential oils, each oil has a wide variety uses. It can be hard to decide which essential oil is the most important to have on hand. Below is a list of 6 different essential oils that are commonly used and for multiple purposes:

Lavender:
– calming, great for stress relief
– soothing cuts & burns
– skin health
– great scent for DIY beauty products
How to Use: diffuse into the air, inhale directly, dietary supplement, or apply topically (diluted or not).

Lemon:
– antibacterial
– great for house cleaning
– excellent deodorizer
– degreasing hands & furniture
– used as an insect repellent
– soothing insect bites & wounds
How to Use: diffuse into the air, inhale directly, dietary supplement, apply topically (diluted or not), or add to distilled water for an easy cleaner/deodorizer.

Peppermint:
– soothing digestion
– helps alleviate headaches
– increases mental clarity
– cooling affect helps reduce fevers
– soothes sunburns
– used as a rub for sore muscles
How to Use: diffuse into the air, dietary supplement, dilute and apply topically to forehead, temples, and neck for headaches or apply to neck and feet for fevers.

Frankincense:
– boosts the immune system
– relieves stress
– uplifting, helps relieve emotional sadness
– decreases signs of wrinkles

Tea Tree:
